“We had an awesome time at the Mansion! It was our first time there, my first drag show, and my husband's second time at a drag show. We had a blast! The emcee was throwing massive amounts of shade, but rightfully so because she WORKED IT! If you decide to go to Showstoppers, bring some bills. We felt so terrible that we didn't have any cash on us, but we plan to go back soon! My mom will be getting divorced sometime this year and I am definitely taking her to Showstoppers to celebrate! — ”

The rooms are completely over-the-top in decor, kitsch, and tchotch. There are many secret doors to try to find that will take you from one room to the next (we found only about a third of them). “This was so much fun, who knew there was a log cabin housed in a row house in the middle of D.C.? The one thing I would have liked was a map/floor plan, but I guess that'd give away some of the fun of finding the hidden passageways. My friend and I found several. I'd recommend the Mansion to anyone, especially those who have already seen the major tourist spots and want to spend their day doing something completely different.”

We were there for about 2 hours and could have easily stayed longer. My 2 nieces were completely focused on finding as many secret doors as possible. We enjoyed the champagne and the fact that we were free to roam the mansion at our own pace. There were many items I want to buy, so I plan to go back soon with my husband to decide on a couple of prints/paintings.”

“I was there on March 17th for a birthday brunch and the food was delicious! The staff truly has a personal touch that makes you feel very special. I ordered a special birthday key lime pie that was beautiful and tasted wonderful. I understand that the pastry chef is one of the top 10 in the country. I also ordered the 4 floor treasure hunt that is totally worth it! All four of us had fun trying to find the secret doors and other items on the list - the Mansion makes it's worth the search. Everything in the mansion is for sale so have fun trying to find that special something. Every room is different and many guest rooms that aren't booked are open so you can see the different themes in each room. We enjoyed it so much we are already planning a second visit.”

“Little Things that Mean a Lot My little man took a leap of faith in trusting me when I suggested a change of scenery might (always) be a good thing. He was locked into his world ... Rough scene for his early age over the past many years between his dad's struggles and Me leaving and his beloved cousin, dying ...amidst The Divorce and ... Wow... How does/can one so young and heartfelt deal ... And let's just add The Bullying to boot. But he anted up and said Yes to my request. Small Victories are The Hardest won, I think. And in this case The Most Important. He came to The Mansion with his fragile sense of self and yet he played along... Even though everything has been outside of his comfort zone for a good while now. And he won ....small victories but they all add up to So Much... He found secret doors he could open and found some seriously good people he could try to trust ... He came with me ...so fragilely...and now ...a few days later ...the bricks of self esteem are discernible ... I have had the incredible gift of Mansion Magic for a few years now ... If there is any one thing I want to hold onto in my life ... And to impart to my children... It's everything that you, H, have founded and that You and Ted further everyday ... The world you have created and maintain represents every ideal that is right and strong and true. Please share with Blake that he should know , what an incredible thing he just modeled for my son, just by being himself... And incredibly ... By having the generosity of spirit to just be cool with my kid. ... I could not ask for a better role model ... He has started to shine a bit again ... There is nothing more beautiful or precious to me than this ...he's got a bit of his spark back ... I am So Grateful <3”
