Our whole family had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day at the Mansion, one of Washington's most under-publicized gems. You have such a friendly and fun place, and with every visit we find new delights and surprises. Thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing us such a treasure for the city, the arts ... and always, for your members and patrons. Steve and Carol Goldman ?

The Mansion (which could probably also justfiably be called "The Museum" because of all the artifacts it has) is a really cool and unique place in DC. The maze of rooms was highly stimulating and entertaining. The numbers of rooms is pretty amazing. I wasn't at a loss for words as I discovered room after room. As a big music fan (especially of classic rock), I was very pleasantly surprised to discover this most impressive collection of classic rock paraphenila. I will make a strong recommendation to all my musician friends to visit. I particularly enjoyed the basement and some of the outrageous bathrooms (all over the house). The only signficant thing that I didn't like is that the cigarette smoke spread throughout the house. This place would be awesome for a private or company party. Absolutely no wait at the bar (perfect) and complementary munchies were nice touches.?

It was another fantastic experience having breakfast at the Mansion. My friends, who had never been there before, were totally impressed with everything and will definitely return for more. The food was great as always and the hospitality and personal touch makes one feel like they are with family. We all loved seeing the different rooms, the décor and the secret doorways. It was a thrilling experience for all. Can't wait to come back.Warm regards,Don Rakestraw ?

At first we were a bit taken back. As two people who live with a high-level of design esthetic and domestic integrity we usually don't enjoy "clutter" or a mixed decor. That said by the time our event began our whole attitude and appreciation changed dramatically. We started to see the trees through the forest and were enthralled. The art and the history hidden in every corner along the the stories told by the staff brought the Mansion alive. The event was handled flawlessly. The food and service, impeccable. The entertainment was at a level on par with the intimate venue this mansion had now become. Even in the morning we saw new treasures, heard new stories and met new and interesting people. Ted and H. were personas that added a whole other dimension to this day. We even had to purchase her books and a South American Cane that became part of my soul during the night. It was a fantastic experience. As we packed our bags and got into our car one of the fantastic staff helped us out and we told him we really enjoyed our time at the Mansion and looked forward to returning. He responded in sincerity, "We enjoyed having you and can't wait to see us come back". I think he meant it too. Thank you all.

I had a wonderful time at my Association's event. I had never been to the Mansion and was amazed at the ingenuity of all the rooms, the uniqueness of the interior design and everything that was for sale! I would also like to send a special shout out to the young lady who was coordinating our event; she did an exceptional job at keeping the event organized and on track, getting all of our members fed in a timely manner and taking special care of each guest in attendance. Bravo to all of the Staff at The Mansion! ?

I went with my (adult) niece to view the mansion for a corporate event and never expected to have such a great experience! The breakfast was tasty and although brand new to the Mansion, our waiter was as helpful as he could be; it's hard to be attentive without being intrusive but he did it very well. Our omelette was perfected cooked and the waffles (yes, plural - we shared and one simply wasn't enough!) were really good - especially when we paired it with the apples in brandy which was incredibly good. ?

I have been coming here since 1993. Over these 20 years I have come for lunch, brunch, dinner with friend's and family. We had our daughter's Bat Mitzvah here, m y father's 70th birthday where 12 of us stayed over including dinner and brunch. I celebrated my 50th birthday here where we announced our engagement in 2008. And in 2011 when when our son got married we came with guests the day after the wedding. In 2018 I will be 60. No small thing since I have leukemia. I would think O Street will play a part in this special celebration year since it has in so m any of our families milestones. Thank you H for sharing your vision! ?

This summer... I had a moment, while swimming in The Mansion's pool that I felt so much joy and privilege to be alive and in DC -- in your swimming pool. I thought about those who I longed to share that moment with and realized I was totally alone. So I took another gulp of air. Utterly embracing that in that moment life and what life really is meant to be had just revealed to me itself in vesica mandorla. Aqua blue, from a satellite view and comically juxtaposed between the bizarre and scientific, and then me. So I'm taking this moment to look back and thank The Mansion. For the path you've laid in flight by your own calling and grace of footsteps fallen. You build beautiful rooms, stairwells, bookshelves, collections and secret doors. Not to mention THE best kept swimming pool in Washington DC. Thank you dearly for having me. ?

It was a hoot and a holler. 3 of us landed up at the Mansion for a Monday night HH, little did we anticipate the madness and adventure that followed. From the hunting loft to the cellar rooms, secrets and quirks abound and no better way to explore the enigma than with a couple of glasses of Cava to drink smoothly as you wander around this amazingly cavernous adventure zone! ?

Our wedding experience at the Mansion on O street was beyond anything we could even have dreamt. More than the outrageously wonderful accommodations, the food that everyone raved to us about, even the magnificent experience of the Mansion as a physical place, we remain stunned by the kindness, the gentleness, the expertise, and the professionalism of the people who truly ARE the Mansion.I wish I could put my words into an eloquent stream, but how often does anyone truly get to experience a perfect event? A PERFECT event! From start to finish, from check-in to wedded bliss, to dazzling reception, to haven that was our amazing personal retreat after the festivities, it was perfection.Every expectation was not only exceeded, but blown out of the water. I could not have imagined a day like the one that H and T gave us. Our family and friends will never forget this day, and we are similarly fixed by the magic we experienced there. It is not just a venue. It is not just an organization. The Mansion is an adventure - a fantasy made real.We are so thankful, so overwhelmed. Thank you H. Thank you T. You gave us the gift of starting a life together marked by wonderment. You made us feel so special, so chosen, so very lucky to know you and be able to live in your world for those beautiful moments. Trusting you and your wonderful team (we so appreciated Amanda and Sally and truly every person who participated in our event) was the best decision we ever could have made. Our gorgeous and delicious surprise pagoda wedding cake was but one proof of many that leaving it in your hands is a guarantor of success and happiness. I don't know how we will ever be able to show our appreciation, but we shall find a way. ?

Found thirteen doors, looking forward to finding more next time. By the way your service was wonderful and the young blond woman who greeted us and gave us some history on the Mansion was charming, warm and wonderful. I went with my husband and a friend, and we absolutely loved the scavenger hunt. We'd been to the mansion before but the mustaches, drinks and free food made it even more fun. The scavenger hunt list was a bit easier this time around too, and we got most things on the list, although we were a little confused about whether we had to stick to one floor of the mansion. We explored every floor and found five secret doors, which made it feel like the most epic scavenger hunt ever. The staff was friendly, the drinks were good, and the mansion is an adventure. We'll definitely do it again! ?

The food was delicious and included even MORE choices than I had selected! During the course of the meeting, I did not have to take time away from the discussion to worry about event details. I felt our group had total privacy, but it seemed the staff was always aware if we needed another chair, more water, etc. I look forward to many successful events at The Mansion in the future and would certainly recommend the venue to friends and colleagues! ?

Dear H & Ted, Michael and I visited your home (The words hotel or mansion does not relay the warmth and uniqueness of your space or you) this weekend and fell in love. Well, I must admit for Michael it was love at first sight and for me it took some time to see things through his eyes. Michael sees the world as it should be and I like being along for the ride for 33 years now. Your passion for what you do and more importantly, how you do it is special to be around. I read many reviews on line. The positive reviews were expected. The few negative reviews revealed far more about the author than your home. I was actually sad for those reviewers who did not "get" what the Mansion offers: freedom to explore your world, to learn something about ourselves, and to see things from a different perspective. While exploring with our daughter (visiting Ms. Park's room, the log cabin suite, viewing the most expensive treasures to the seemingly mundane) I was taken to places in my childhood both good and bad and shared wonderful memories with her. ?

Sometimes when one has an event there is the inevitable second guessing: wouldn't the food/the ambiance/the service/the vibe of another place possible have been better?? But NOT A BAT squeak of those thoughts occurred before, during or after the spectacular book party you hosted for me last Saturday. We came to the Mansion as a suggestion of one of my former students. Not knowing what to expect, we booked a penthouse tour. My family and I stayed for hours! We were all enthralled - adults and children! My son was eager to see the next room and find the next door as fast as possible, while the rest of wanted to poke around and just look with wonder. One visit was not enough. It was our favorite part of our dc vacation! You asked what was my favorite room and I answered the wine cellar. In hindsight, that was a total fib. My favorite room was downstairs the room with comic books and games. That room felt the most comfortable to me. We are actually giving my sister a night at the Mansion as her christmas/birthday present. Thank you so much for sharing such a wonder place with us!! —

OMG! I've lived in DC for 15 years and never knew about this museum. Now I will have to make up for lost time. This museum is a gem, nothing like it anywhere else in the U.S. You have to experience it, to understand what it offers. Young and old will enjoy it. The items will delight.....the architecture will amaze....the enormity of the mansion will awe. AND --the secret doors and passageway will tickle your creative juices! My tween and teen daughters spent FIVE hours there on a scavenger hunt and we can't wait to return with friends. Just go. Don't even think about it. —

So much fun! I have been wanting to visit for years, and I'm glad to finally go. I really enjoyed the scavenger hunt, discovering little things here and there--what a thrill to see some Highlander the series books and a pound puppy--two of my favorite things from the past and such unexpected finds. I loved the diversity of items, from showy to cheap to valuable to priceless. I went with my Harry Potter group and it was lovely to see some Harry Potter items hidden in different rooms. Directions to get to the museum from the Metro were perfect and so useful. Thank you for having those on your website. The only con I have to report is that we were unable to find that darn cowboy and that specific bear with the subtle eyes and white background. I swear we looked everywhere! So where were they hiding? This is going to keep me up at night! lol Thanks for the incredibly enjoyable afternoon. Certainly worth waiting for :-) —

Thank you. Many of our friends and family have contacted me since my brother's memorial to say how beautiful the event was, and what a perfect environment the Mansion provides to celebrate a life. I love you guys and am comforted to have found a place so full of magic, peace, and music. —

We really loved the mansion and thought the overall experience was just amazing. My husband is a natural inquisitive detective and he had a blast trying to find all the secret doors. Sadly, he was so disappointed he could only find 7! We will surely be visiting again sometime in the near future.Thank you! —

We absolutely loved Showstoppers and exploring the mansion! The show was first rate. The performers were all super talented and diva-ishly divine. I'm looking forward to the next Showstoppers and I'm arriving even earlier to explore more of the mansion. —

Simply wonderful! It was a fabulous event. I invited several friends. They enjoyed searching for secret doors, exploring rooms, finding treasures, meeting new people of all ages, and of course, the glitz, glamour and media interest in the Beatles, Fab 4, unveiling. We're planning to attend other events and tell more friends about the beautiful Mansion on O Street. —

This is a fascinating gem in the middle of DC. I am here in the city for a summer internship, and this was a great addition to the rush of museums and monuments. It is different from anything else that I saw. Hunting for secret doors and looking through the (well-priced) antiques was fun. I brought along a friend who is from DC and she had never heard of it, so was skeptical at first, but ended up loving it. There's also a nice bar and there was live music in the main entrance. As a place to spend an hour or two and explore, it is well worth the trip. —

I am an avid museum goer. By far, this is the most interesting museum I've been to in many years. The combination of art, antiques, memorabilia and ingenious interior design of the bathrooms and flat screen tv's and kitchens makes the venue a must stay. and secret treasure of DC! I will definitely return soon to take part in another secret door hunt! I'm determined to find a lot ore.

A wonderfully unique event in one of Washington's best intimate settings for live music and celebrations! And, of course, great customer service. —
